Role reversal...

..just finished watching the first Sharpe video (Sharpe's Rifles and Sharpe's Eagle), and was mildly amused to note that playing one of the bad guys was a young Daniel Craig, the new Bond. And of course Sean Bean played a rogue agent in Goldeneye...interesting role reversal from tv to movie casting!

I'm not convinced by the new Bond. Whilst everyone would agree (including Flemming) that Connery was the ultimate Bond, Pierce Brosnan comes a worthy second, followed by Moore. Lazenby, Niven and Dalton were all rubbish - they lacked that "Je na sais quoi", that certain Englishness and Charisma. Daniel Craig also seems to lack that pizazz and I suspect he'll go the way of Dalton.

Still, I'm willing to give him a chance, albeit not in the cinema.

Well, no, not everyone would agree. I, for one, wouldn't. And Fleming never saw Brosnan play Bond. In fact, didn't he hate Connery's Bond to start with? For me, Brosnan was the ultimate Bond, followed by Connery and Dalton. Roger Moore was terrible, Lazenby never really had chance to grow into the role, and Niven wasn't really playing a "proper" Bond.
